The void left by the theft of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting on the Louvre wall was as shocking and painful as the void left by the Codex Calixtinus in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where the book was kept. The story of these two masterpieces is very similar, although we hope that the time it takes for the book to be returned will be less than the time it took for the Mona Lisa, which remained missing for two years and 111 days. The subsequent impact of the theft on the painting was so great that it enhanced its global reputation. Will the same happen with the Codex?
