How the facsimile of the Codex Calixtinus was created
Kaydeda Editions It was a very small publishing house, although it had a large catalog. It consisted of two people, José María Calzada Dalmases, although his stage name was José María Kaydeda and his inseparable secretary Carmen.

José María was Catalan by birth, though he felt completely Galician. This love for his homeland led him to live in Galicia for many years and to become fully integrated into its intellectual circles at the highest levels. His connections with the most distinguished figures in the world of literature, culture, politics, and religion made possible the remarkable convergence of circumstances that culminated in the creation of a facsimile copy of the first travel guide, which, moreover, and exponentially increasing its value, was a guide to the Camino de Santiago.
His relationship with the Chapter of the Cathedral of Santiago and with Professor Millán Bravo Lozano (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milln_Bravo_Lozano) he facilitated the agreement for the reproduction of the invaluable IACOBUS CODEX CALIXTINUS.
José María had been living in Madrid for years when the facsimile project began, and his operational base was in the offices of one of the capital's leading graphic arts companies. He produced most of his publishing catalog with FOTOJAE, and it was his unwavering trust in this company, and especially in its technical "heart and soul," Ángel Luís González, that enabled this ambitious project to be fully executed by them.
One of the best photographers was chosen, the parchment paper was brought from Italy, the best leathers from Ubrique were chosen to bind the copy, each sheet was die-cut and cut one by one and sewn by hand with the best of arts so that the result would be on par with the original.
José María adjusted each piece, while Professor Millán meticulously attended to the scientific details, and Angel Luis contributed his vast experience to each link in the technical chain, the result of decades of experience in the graphic arts.
And as a result of all this, in 1993 it was presented to the public, with The Cardinal Rouco-Varela as master of ceremonies and very close to the site where the original copy sadly and unfortunately disappeared in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
