Finding a gift for a bibliophile is difficult: they usually already own what they want and can distinguish a special piece from a decorative object. Here are our ideas for this Christmas, organized by budget.
Less than €50
- Book V of the Codex Calixtinus, medieval pilgrim's guideThe first travel guide in history, in Spanish. Perfect for those preparing for the Camino in the Holy Year 2027.
- Books on Romanesque architecture and symbolism (Palencia, Valladolid, Cantabria): large-format illustrated studies, in the Outlet.
Between €1,000 and €2,500: a facsimile for life
- Facsimile edition of the Iacobus Codex CalixtinusThe Book of James, reproduced with the utmost fidelity. The quintessential gift of the Holy Year.
- Ars Magna by Raymond Lull: facsimile edition by Kaydeda and Patrimonio Nacional, a unique piece for lovers of medieval philosophy and science.
For those who already have everything
Many facsimiles from major publishers are out of print and can only be found secondhand. In the Partner Marketplace Other collectors sell their copies with protected payment: the money is held until the buyer receives the work and checks its condition.
