Price of a facsimile
The price of a second-hand facsimile depends on the work, the edition, and, above all, how complete the copy is. We explain what a buyer looks for and help you set a realistic price for selling it.
The work. Beatus manuscripts, books of hours, Bibles, and the Codex Calixtinus are in constant demand. Lesser-known works may take longer to find a buyer.
The publisher and the print run. Limited and numbered editions from specialized publishers tend to hold their value better. A sold-out edition can be worth more than one that is still being sold new.
The state. Sturdy binding, clean edges, no stains, moisture, or odors. A well-described and photographed defect inspires more confidence than one discovered upon opening the package.
That it is complete. The numbered certificate, the case, and the study volume are all included with the copy. If any of these are missing, the price drops significantly.
The moment. Anniversaries and events, such as the Jacobean Holy Year 2027, spark interest in specific works.
As a point of reference, second-hand facsimiles usually sell for less than their original price, except for highly sought-after out-of-print editions. Our guide to appraising a facsimile It helps you review your copy step by step.

To protect buyers: listings with prices significantly different from the norm for that edition are reviewed more thoroughly before being published.
Publishing is free with the Free Plan, which allows up to 3 ads. You only pay when you sell: the Club charges a 10% commission on the price of each copy (VAT included). With the Member Plan (€9.90 per month, with a 30-day trial), you can have up to 25 ads, and the commission drops to 8%. Shipping costs paid by the buyer are your responsibility. You can choose your preferred carrier. From your account panel, you can select the carrier and provide the tracking number. You have 5 business days from payment to ship the order; otherwise, it will be canceled and the buyer will be refunded.
If the buyer opens a dispute (with photos), the payment is frozen. You can accept the return or explain your position, and if there is no agreement, the Club decides. Therefore, it's advisable to describe the condition in detail and photograph any defects.
To process your payment, we verify your identity through our payment provider. Furthermore, European regulation DAC7 requires platforms to collect the name, tax identification number (NIF), address, and date of birth of sellers and to report to the tax authorities those who exceed 30 sales or €2,000 per year.
